Days have been better...

Well, today was not the best day at work.  Kiddos are getting a liiiiittle comfier in showing their misbehavior so I've had to tighten up.  It's day 14 so I wasn't necessarily loosening the reigns anyhow but just gotta reign 'em in a bit more.

It did not help that I was on less than 6 hours of sleep.  I am also dealing with a new(ish) reading series that I really dislike.  I dislike it in the way they've organized it.  I'm fortunate I have some experience under my belt but I still feel flustered and lost with it.  We started it last year so this is only the 2nd time I've gone through.  Planning has been baffling, at best.  So that, too, added to my discombobulated (sp?) feeling.

This is also my first year doing homework packets.  Most brought them back but a chunk either "forgot" them or only did a portion of it. Okay...first week with it...I'll see how the next week goes but I won't give up.

I'm also disappointed I may have to rearrange my room.  I REALLY like the arrangement I have now (see pics here but note, those are PRIOR to starting...things look better :p ) but I may need to switch my student desks and rug.  I love the meetings/teachings on the rug but when I'm teaching and they're at their seats, they feel far away (some take advantage of that) and I question their ability to see well.  I'm also used to having a table in front with me to use (with my TE, Elmo, etc.) so I feel all sorts of awkward.  I can wheel over my Elmo but that only takes care of part of the problem.

Sigh.

I really wished it had worked.

I'm sorry if I come off as a Debbie Downer. I don't mean to.

On a happy note, it's a 4 day week! 1 of those days is done! Picture day on Thursday though.  That's a neutral.  I thought of another good thing..my kids' attendance and tardies (or lack of!!) is WAY better than last year! Yay!  I had tardy slips for eons with  that  group  some of those kids from that group.
